PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat display device having a structure in which the mechanism for impressing voltage on an anode and the total structure of an exhaust pipe can be simplified, and exhaust of air can be made easily through the exhaust pipe, and which has hardly a problem on airtightness of the exhaust pipe. SOLUTION: The flat display device has a space interposed by an anode panel AP having an anode 24 and a cathode panel CP held in a vacuum, and is provide with (A) an exhaust pipe 150 made of a conductive material of which one end part communicates with the space and the other end part is located outside of the flat display device and (B) an elastic member 151 made of a conductive material. The exhaust pipe 150 and the anode 24 are mutually electrically connected through the elastic member 151 arranged in the space and a prescribed voltage is impressed on the anode 24 through the exhaust pipe 150 and the elastic member 151.
