PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device that can easily prevent breaking in electrodes. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 1 comprises a first substrate 2, a second substrate 3, an anisotropic conductive material 11 for sealing the both substrates 2 and 3, and a liquid crystal 12. Color filters 4R, 4G, 4B, a black mask 5 and common electrodes 6A, 6B and transient sections 7A, 7B are disposed on an inner face of the first substrate 2. Segment electrodes 8, and connection wirings 10A, 10B are formed on an inner face of the second substrate 3, as well as a driver IC 9 for monochromatic display is disposed. The transient sections 7A, 7B provided at an end part of the common electrodes 6A, 6B formed on the first substrate 2 are connected to the connection wirings 10A, 10B formed on the second substrate 3 through the anisotropic conducting material 11, respectively. Thereby, the common electrodes 6A, 6B are connected to the driver IC 9 for monochromatic display without climbing over a step part formed in the outer periphery of the black mask 5.
