PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separating device which can simplify a structure for preventing a shaft from coming out. SOLUTION: The separating device 1 is provided with lock hardware 17, cover hardware 19, and a release operation part 23. The lock hardware 17 is rotatably supported by base hardware 15 and is detachably and rotatably retained by the base hardware 15 in a storage position with respect to the base hardware 15. Then the lock hardware 17 prevents a tang member 13 inserted into the base hardware 15 from coming out. The cover hardware 19 is rotatably supported by the base hardware 15 and covers the lock hardware 17 with respect to the base hardware 15 in the storage position of the lock hardware 17. The release operation part 23 detachably and rotatably engages the cover hardware 19 with the base hardware 15 in the position where the cover hardware 19 covers the lock hardware 17. The lock hardware 17 is rotatably supported to the base hardware 15 by a supporting shaft 37, and the supporting shaft 37 is fixed to the base hardware 15 by a screw member 41.
