A laundry dryer is provided to prevent remaining water and to eliminate wrinkles of the laundry without ironing by sensing connection or separation state between a pump and a water container. A laundry dryer comprises a drum, a steam generator, a water container(300), a sensing unit(500), a water supply path, and a pump(400). The water container supplies water to the steam generator. The water container is detachably formed at the laundry dryer. The sensing unit senses the state of the water container whether is mounted or separated. The water supply path connects the steam generator with the water container. The pump is formed on the water supply path, and pumps up the water to the steam generator. A control unit controls the pump by communicating with the sensing unit. The sensing unit is composed of a switch and a sensor. The switch is turned on and off according to the connection or separation state between the pump and the water container. The sensor senses connection state of separation state between the pump and the water container.
