A liquid crystal display device is provided to supply common electric potential to a common electrode from an outer peripheral common electric potential line arranged at an outer periphery of a display area to remove a common electrode auxiliary line in the display area, thereby improving the aperture ratio of pixels. A liquid crystal display includes a substrate. A plurality of pixels are arranged at a display area(70) on the substrate. An outer peripheral common electric potential line(50) is arranged at an outer periphery of the display area and receives common electric potential. Each pixel includes a pixel electrode(21) formed of a first layer transparent electrode, and a common electrode(23A) formed of a second layer transparent electrode, arranged on the pixel electrode by interposing an insulator film, having a plurality of slits(S), wherein the common electrode is arranged over a plurality of pixels. The end of the common electrode is connected to the outer peripheral common electric potential line. |
