PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum switchgear capable of preventing deterioration of insulation due to smear by metal vapor on the inner face of an insulating tube of a vacuum valve and capable of securing sufficient insulation resistance by attenuating electric field concentration at the tip of an electric field buffering shield on the metal end plate side. SOLUTION: In the vacuum switchgear, a fixed electrode side shield 10 is installed in the insulating tube 1 so that its tip may be located at the outside of diameter direction of an arc shield 8, and the electrode axis direction position may coincide with the tip of the arc shield 8, and an embedded shield 12 of which one end protrudes further to the electrode axial direction than the tip of the fixed electrode side shield 10 is installed at a portion corresponding to the jointing part of the insulating tube 1 and the fixed electrode side end plate 2 in the fixed insulator 14.
