<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology whereby each of a content storage device and a content reproducing device can operate properly, when reproducing a content in a system configured with such a devices. <P>SOLUTION: Processes executed by the content reproducing device includes a step S100 of selecting a reproduction object content; a step S105 of checking whether a memory has a free capacity storable of the selected content; and steps S106, S107 of checking the magnitude relation between the reproduction rate of the selected content and a transfer rate, when the content is downloaded.
