PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recorder and an ink-jet recording method, capable of stably ejecting spacers having a large diameter by using a head of a small nozzle diameter. SOLUTION: The ink-jet recorder is provided with: the head having a nozzle for ejecting ink in which spacers are dispersed onto a substrate; and a gradation number changing means for changing a gradation number such that the gradation number when ejecting the ink in which the spacers having a relatively large diameter are dispersed becomes larger than the gradation number when ejecting the ink in which the spacers having a relatively small diameter are dispersed.
