<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which is capable of selecting and printing only files desirable for print objects out of various files even when the various files are present. <P>SOLUTION: A multifunction machine 1 searches files having standard names to be the print objects, from route folders of removable media (S310) when no designation of a search folder name (S305:NO) and searches files having standard names to be the print objects, from search folders in removable media (S315) in designating a search folder name (S305:YES). When detecting files having standard names to be the print object (S320:YES), the multifunction machine 1 prints only the detected files as print object files (S325).
