<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve energy efficiency irrespective of a usage pattern of hot water by eliminating hot water shortage in a heat pump hot water supply system. <P>SOLUTION: The heat pump hot water supply system 100 is provided with a heat pump coolant circuit 90, and a hot water storage tank 21 storing water heated by the heat pump coolant circuit. Hot water generated by the heat pump coolant circuit and hot water stored in the hot water storage tank are supplied to hot water supply terminals 19, 35. The heat pump coolant circuit has two water-coolant heat exchangers 2, 3 carrying out heat exchange between coolant and water. Serial connection and parallel connection of the two water-coolant heat exchanges are switched by a plurality of opening and closing valves 40a-42b.
