PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record an image having few coupling stripes in an inkjet recorder. SOLUTION: In this method for processing an image, counting of dots about an image to be recorded in the vicinity of a coupling stripe is carried out to judge a printing duty. The dot count value is determined based on the printing duty. A recording data correction rank predetermined in response to a characteristic of the recorder is determined, and then adding or thinning of image data to be recorded in the vicinity of the coupling stripe is carried out.
