A method of dissolving a detergent in a front-loading washing machine is provided to dissolve the whole detergent supplied on an outer surface of a drum in washing water by rotating the drum at a preset speed when the water supplied to the tub reaches a preset volume, thereby facilitating the dissolution of the detergent and enhancing the cleaning efficiency of the washing machine. A method of dissolving a detergent in a front-loading washing machine comprises the steps of: determining whether the water supplied to a tub through a supply valve has reached a preset volume(S10,S20), and driving a motor to rotate a drum at a preset speed if the water level has reached the predetermined volume, and supplying the detergent on an outer surface of a drum(S30,S40). The preset volume of water is 5 to 10 liters. The preset rotational speed is 50 to 90 rpm. The detergent is supplied to the tub by repetitively supplying a small quantity of detergent. |
