PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure cooker improving safety by preventing a cover body from being in a half-locked state. SOLUTION: This pressure cooker includes a container to store, and cook a cooked object, a cover body 10 to cover an opening of this container free to open and close, a cover body locking mechanism 22 having an engaging member to lock the cover body, a heating means 5 to heat the cooking material in the container and a control means to control this heating means. The cover body locking mechanism 22 includes a half-lock prevention mechanism R to strengthen a locking degree by working on the engaging member 23, this half-lock prevention mechanism R consists of an operation member 18 to operate the engaging member and a driving means to drive this operation member, and the operation member 18 is constituted of a first operation member 19 connected to the driving means to operate and a second operation member 20 connected to a first operation member to freely separate from it and to be separated from the first operation member when movement of itself is blocked.
