A data recording/reproducing system (1) reads, based on a prescribed reproduction clock, information relating to a recording track of a recording medium (3), by irradiation of periodic light for scanning the information at a prescribed scanning speed. The data recording/reproducing system is provided with a computer (13) for generating the periodic light by modulating light by a drive signal wherein a signal synchronized with the frequency of the reproduction clock is superposed. The system is also provided with a DSP (digital signal processor) (49) and an LD driver (17).
