PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic document feeder, an image reading device, and an image forming device, capable of preventing the occurrence of erroneous detection of a document without being influenced by paper powders at the time of the separation of the documents. SOLUTION: The ADF 23 separating the document from a document bundle P placed on a document table 24 one by one and feeding that to a reading position 80, has a document detecting means detecting the presence/absence of the document on the document table 24. The document detecting means is composed of a set filler 29 contacting with the document and moving between a document setting position and a document non-setting position, and a document set sensor 30 detecting the position of the set filler 29. The set filler 29 and the document set sensor 30 are installed at an upper place than the uppermost position of the document bundle P placed on the document table 24. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
