摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar light source device in which a light-emitting surface of a point light source and an incidence surface of a light guide plate are brought into contact with each other, the planar light source device being easy in assembly and preventing a reduction in incidence efficiency resulting from displacement of the light-emitting area of the point light source from the incidence surface of the light guide plate, and degradation of display quality. <P>SOLUTION: The point light source 2 is configured so that a shade-like part 80 that protrudes in a direction perpendicular to the light-emitting surface 91 is provided at one side of the light-emitting surface 91, and a main surface of the shade-like part 80 touches the outgoing surface 7 of the light guide plate 1, with the light-emitting surface 91 disposed to be opposed to the incidence surface 6 of the light guide plate 1. The shade-like part 80 engages with the light guide plate 1 on its outgoing surface 7, and as a result, it is possible to suppress misalignment between the light-emitting surface 91 of the point light source 2 and the incidence surface 6 of the light guide plate 1 even if the light guide plate 1 suffers deformation such as warpage. Even in the event of misalignment, the existence of the shade-like part 80 allows reflection of leaking light, and it is therefore possible to guide the leaking light to the incidence surface 6 of the light guide plate 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
