A method of optimizing locations and sizes of gates in die casting process is provided to minimize defects caused by voids created in the product. A method of optimizing locations and sizes of gates includes a step(S1) of dividing a die in many sections, a step(S2) of placing gates having same size to each divided section, a step(S3) of selecting a longest flow distance of molten metal, a step(S4) of repeating calculations to remove gates provided in a divided section by increasing size of an adjacent gate for maintaining constant flow rate of the molten metal, and a step(S5) of selecting a shortest flow distance obtained from computer simulation as an optimized condition.
