DATA DRIVING UNIT OF DISPLAY APPARATUS AND DISPLAY APPARATUS HAVING THE SAME

A display device and a data driving unit for the same are provided to use a data clock signal corresponding to a resolution by enabling a data driver to self-discriminate the resolution. A display device includes a shift register(220), a latch unit(230), a DAC(240), an output buffer(250) and a resolution determining unit(260). The shift register shifts a horizontal start signal in response to a data clock signal and outputs a sampling signal. The latch unit latches the data signal in response to the sampling signal, and outputs the latched data signal in response to a load signal. The DAC converts the data signal from the latch unit to a corresponding analog data signal. The output buffer buffers the analog data signal. The resolution determining unit counts the horizontal start signals to determine a resolution.
