A method and an apparatus for minimizing the accumulation of polymer on process equipment are provided to prevent the polymer from being accumulated on the process equipment, by attaching the process equipment onto a distillation column adjacently to wet regions. A distillation column(9) has at least one wall(16) and an inner space for keeping at least one process fluid. The inner space includes one or more wet regions(12,13,14) each containing mobile liquid fluid, during operating a process. An equipment(15) is attached at the wall of the distillation column so that the fluid is intermittently contacted with the equipment and the fluid is transferred from the inner space of the distillation column to the equipment. One or more accumulated polymeric materials, condensates comprising the polymeric materials, and polymers are washed out from the equipment during operating the process. The equipment is positioned adjacently to the wet regions.
