A method for preparing a surface (26) of a substrate (22) such as a polymer, glass, and the like to receive one or more images (46) applied thereto. The method may include selecting a substrate having a surface (12), abrading a portion of the surface (16), and printing an image comprising a graphic, text, or some combination thereof on the abraded surface (20). The substrate (22) may be masked to protect selected areas from abrasion 14. Additionally, if necessary, the substrate (22) may be cleaned after the abrasion (18) to improve the adherence of the image (46) to the abraded surface (26). |
