INTER-CAR COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inter-car communication system to conduct an information transfer in each car of a train or among respective cars rapidly and efficiently by utilizing infrared rays.

SOLUTION: The inter-car communication systems are set up in respective coupling faces of a plurality of cars. A receiver 12 to receive infrared beams and a transmitter 13 to be connected to the receiver 12 and to transmit the infrared beams are set up to the coupling face of one end of the car. The receiver 16 to receive the infrared beams 14 transmitted from the transmitter 13 and the transmitter 17 to be connected to the receiver 16 and to transmit the infrared beams 18 toward the coupling face of one end of a followed car coupled to the car are set up to the coupling face of the other end of the car. A television set or the like to display an image by receiving the infrared beams transmitted from the transmitter 13 may be set up in the car.
