PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent performance change due to use for a long period of time by preventing abrasion powder from adhering on a brush even if the abrasion powder is formed at rotary slide part of a bearing boss of a sensor case and a rotor in a potentiometer. SOLUTION: The potentiometer consists of a sensor case 11 having the bearing boss 18 on an end wall 16, a resistor substrate 16 fixed thereon, a rotor 12 rotatably supported by the baring boss 18, and brushes 26, 26' fixed on the rotor 12 and sliding on the resistor substrate 16 in a radial direction outside of the bearing boss 18 following rotation of the rotor 12, and takes out output corresponding to rotation position of the rotor 12 from the resistor substrate 16.
