A method for controlling power failure of a washing machine is provided to progress a successive washing processes even power failure is occurred by memorizing present drive information when in power failure and reading the driving-information when the power is re-applied. A method for controlling power failure of a washing machine comprises the steps: checking prior drive information state when power is applied to the washing machine(S41); progressing a series of washing processes if prior drive information is not stored; reading the drive information if the prior drive information is stored(S42); consecutively progressing the washing processes according to the read drive information(S43); judge the power failure state while progressing the washing processes(S44); storing the present drive information if the power failure is detected(S47); and stopping the washing processes and initializing the stored drive information if the power failure is not detected(S46). |
