A one-pack type thermosetting resin composition for the protective film of a color filter, a color filter containing the protective film prepared by using the composition, a liquid crystal display device using the color filter, and an image sensor using the color filter are provided to improve smoothness, adhesion, chemical resistance and storage stability. A one-pack type thermosetting resin composition comprises 1-45 wt% of a self-curing copolymer comprising the repeating units represented by the formulae 1, 2, 3 and 4; 1-45 wt% of an epoxy compound; and 10-98 wt% of an organic solvent, wherein R1 is H or a methyl group; n is an integer of 1-10; R2 is H or a methyl group; and m is an integer of 1-10. Optionally the composition comprises further 0.1-30 parts by weight of a silane coupling agent based on 100 parts by weight of the self-curing copolymer.
