PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispensing device capable of dispensing liquid sample, while avoiding foreign matter. SOLUTION: This dispensing device sucks the liquid sample, containing a sample or a reagent by a dispensing probe 6 and transfers the sucked liquid sample to a prescribed position to be delivered. The dispensing device is provided with a light source 21 for irradiating light to the liquid sample 2a along the vertical direction, a CCD camera 22 for imaging the liquid sample by the light emitted from the light source, and reflected from the liquid sample or transmitted through the liquid sample, an image processor 23 for finding a luminance distribution within the horizontal plane of the liquid sample, based on the image information imaged by the CCD camera, and for specifying the existing position in the horizontal direction of the foreign matters Sf existing in the liquid sample, based on the luminance distribution found, and a biaxial stage 7 for moving the dispensing probe along a biaxial direction, orthogonal to other within the horizontal plane, the dispensing probe is moved by the biaxial stage, based on the existing position in the horizontal direction of the specified foreign matter, and the liquid sample is thereby sucked, while avoiding foreign matter.
