PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device achieving the reduction in running cost by accurately judging the life of the fixing device, limiting a part which is almost dead and then restraining number of components to be exchanged to the minimum. SOLUTION: The fixing device is an image fixing device whose condition is judged by detecting rotational driving force in respective conditions that a rotating body comes into contact with a pressure rotating body and that it is separated therefrom by a driving force detecting means and obtaining the values of the rotational driving force in the respective conditions.
