PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base material for a laminate, enabling densification, and resisting the temperature increase of the laminate caused by the communication of a large amount of information by solving the problems of heat resistance, heat-resistant dimensional stability and thinning which are the problems of the base material for the laminate using an aromatic polyamide fiber. SOLUTION: The base material for the laminate containing aromatic polyamide short fiber, aromatic polyamide pulp and optionally an organic resin binder as main components is regulated so that the aromatic polyamide pulp may contain a specific amount of a para-type aromatic polyamide pulp having≥10% dry shrinkage.
