PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly irradiate the spot of the cloth to be marked with marking light, without being affected by any change in the size of a cloth holding member. SOLUTION: The machine is provided with cloth holding member 30 and a marking irradiation device 50, and while feeding a material to be sewn to the cloth feeding direction, forms a seam in material to be sewn by moving a sewing needle vertically. The machine is also provided with a vertical driving means 53 for moving a light emission part vertically, rotating drive means 57, 63 for rotate the light emission part on a predetermined drive shaft, an irradiation position setting means for setting an irradiation position of the point mark, a vertical position setting means for setting vertically the position of the light emission part and a control means for controlling the vertical driving means and the rotating drive means which moves the light emission part to the vertical position set by the vertical position setting means, even if light emission part moves to the set vertical position, so that the irradiation position set by irradiation position setting means is irradiated with the point mark.
