A method of weighing a patient is disclosed comprising a system that is provided with mattress pump apparatus controller (108, figure 1) arranged to monitor pressure of a fluid in the mattress (100, figure 1). The controller (108, figure 1) detects a change in the pressure due to placement of patient on the mattress, measures a load pressure of the fluid (such as air) contained in the mattress and determines the weight of the load from the load pressure. |
