PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether write data consistency can be ensured at an arbitrary time point when a computer system executes remote copying for ensuring write data consistency across a plurality of storage control devices. SOLUTION: A storage system in which a source storage control device receiving time-stamped write data issued by a host computer transfers the time-stamped write data to a destination storage control device, and if there are a plurality of destination storage control devices, a representative destination storage control device compares the time of write data copied to the plurality of destination storage control devices to command that the write data be written to destination logical volumes in time order, determines that write data consistency is established when all the pertinent source and destination logical volumes are consistent after the representative destination storage control device completes a procedure for communication with the other destination storage control devices.
