PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal powder production apparatus for efficiently producing amorphous metal powders with larger particle diameters, and to provide metal powders produced by the metal powder production apparatus, and a compact obtained by compacting the metal powders. SOLUTION: The metal powder production apparatus (atomizer) 1 is used for powdering molten metal Q by an atomizing process to obtain many metal powders P. The metal powder production apparatus 1 has: a feed part (tundish) 2 for feeding the molten metal Q; a liquid jet part 3 provided at the lower part of the feed part 2; and a nozzle 6 and a cylindrical body 9A provided below the liquid jet part 3. The nozzle 6 includes an orifice 64 for jetting a liquid jet S4 (second liquid), and when the liquid jet S4 is collided with a fluid dispersion C1, the advance direction of the fluid dispersion C1 is forcedly changed.
