METHOD AND PORTABLE DEVICE FOR PROVIDING PORTABLE MEDIA APPARATUS WITH DRM CONTENTS

A method and a portable device for providing potable media apparatus with DRM contents are provided to further reinforce the protection of digital copyright by storing digital contents encrypted in various formats on a portable media device detachable from portable device. A method for providing potable media with DRM contents includes the steps of: receiving DRM A contents as DRM B contents through a DRM conversion system(621); combining a stationary system with a portable device(622); judging whether or not authentication by a portable media key is succeeded(623); generating an encrypted key and encrypting and transferring contents using the encrypted key to a portable media(624) if so; storing received encrypted contents in a storage unit by a portable media(625); and finishing the routine when the authentication by a portable media key is not succeeded.
