<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device capable of preventing the deterioration of color reproduction (for example, white balance) regardless of a lighting time of a light source, and a display device having the light-emitting device. <P>SOLUTION: As a control part 13 outputs a control signal to a counter 12, the counter 12 measures a lighting time of a fluorescent tube 15 and an LED 17 and stores the measured lighting time to a memory 11 through the control part 13. The control part 13 calculates the lighting time every time the lighting time increases by 500 h, and obtains a correction coefficient corresponding to the calculated lighting time from a correction table. The control part 13 outputs a control voltage corresponding to the correction coefficient obtained to an LED drive circuit 16. The LED drive circuit 16 outputs a voltage corresponding to the control voltage inputted by the control part 13 to the LED 17.
