PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester composition having extremely slight generation amount of deposit to a spinneret and excellent moldability even when continuously spinning for a long time and a polyester composition capable of obtaining a fiber having clear appearance, improved in dyeing property and excellent in alkali reduction processability. SOLUTION: The invention provides a copolyester in which 0.1-10 mass% glycol component represented by general formula (I) (wherein a functional group R is a 2-6C alkylene group which may be branched; n is an integer of 2-22) is copolymerized with a polyester containing ethylene terephthalate as main recurring units, a copolyester composition having 0.1-5 mass% content of inert particles, in which frequency fraction of particles having 0.01-0.5μm average particle diameter and >0.5μm particle diameter is≤20 mass%, not substantially containing a metal element having≥5.0 true specific gravity, and a fiber obtained by carrying out melt molding of the copolyester composition.
