PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid discharge device which prevents a sudden change in liquid discharge level from occurring, and also to provide a liquid discharge method and a program. SOLUTION: The liquid discharge device (a printer 1) has a nozzle group (nozzle trains Nka to Nyb), a relative transfer mechanism (a paper conveyance mechanism 30) and a controller (a printer-side controller 20 etc.). The nozzle group comprises a plurality of nozzles Nz arranged in a row, and a plurality of the nozzles of the nozzle group are formed in a direction crossing the direction where the nozzles Nz are arranged. The relative transfer mechanism relatively transfers a medium on which a liquid discharged from the nozzles Nz impact and the nozzle group. The controller controls the discharge of the liquid from the nozzles Nz and at the same time, the relative transfer of the medium and the nozzle group. In addition, the controller initiates the discharge of the liquid from the other nozzles of the nozzle group in a timely manner in which the liquid discharge is initiated from some nozzles of the nozzle group.
