A navigation system for providing a business category search service and a navigation providing method thereof are provided easily to offer information for all business categories by storing POI/address information of each business category and recognizing/providing the POI or address information of the business category corresponding to a business category search request of a user. A POI database(101) stores each POI of map data. An address database(102) stores the address information matching a phone number with an address. A business category search requestor(103) receives the business category search request from the user. A business category recognizer(104) receives the requested business category by referring to the POI database and the address database. A location information provider(105) provides location information of the recognized business category. The business category recognizer recognizes the POI information related to the requested business category from the POI database and recognizes the address information related to the requested business category from the address database.
