PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an elevator capable of improving convenience of maintenance work while reducing possibility that a car is unexpectedly vertically moved for a maintenance person. SOLUTION: In an operation control mode of the car 10 by a control device body 8, a usual control mode for vertically traveling the car 10 according to call registration and a maintenance control mode for vertically traveling the car 10 based on instruction from maintenance operation devices 25, 30 are included. When the operation control mode is set to the usual control mode, and the control device body 8 detects that a stop position of the car 10 is positioned at a story other than the lowermost story, and when opening of a landing door 16 of the lowermost story is detected, the operation control mode is switched from the usual control mode to the maintenance control mode.
