The system (10) has connecting interfaces (14, 16) e.g. composite video blank and sync (CVBS) connecting port, for connecting an external device (34), and an input interface (58) for selecting one of the connecting interfaces. The selected connecting interface is coupled with the external device. A logic unit (62) is coupled with the input interface and a display device (60) for controlling the display device such that the display device represents the connection condition of the connecting interface, which is selected by the input interface. An independent claim is also included for a method for displaying connecting conditions of selected connecting interface.
