<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic lens which has excellent scratch resistance without causing any local deformation in a lens base material even under a high humidity environment, and to provide a multilayer antireflection layer which imparts the characteristics to the lens base material. <P>SOLUTION: The multilayer antireflection layer 2 comprises layers of high refractive index layers (3H1, 3H2, 3H3) and low refractive index layers (3L1, 3L2, 3L3, 3L4), wherein the high refractive index layers (3H1, 3H2, 3H3) have intergranular boundaries.
