A voice coil former of a rectangular slim speaker is provided to improve a manufacturing yield of the voice coil former by integrating a damper with the voice coil former without using a separated bonding process. A damper is made of a band, which has a constant width and is made of a plastic film or a sheet. The band-type damper(11) is wound around a voice coil former, at the same time when a voice coil(12) is wound around the voice coil former. The damper is attached to both curved ends of the voice coil former. The damper is arranged inside the voice coil. The band-type damper is firmly attached to both of the curved ends of the voice coil former. One end of the damper forms a cut portion, which is firmly attached to a curved surface of the voice coil former. |
