FIELD: paper holding equipment, in particular, holding devices for rolled toilet paper, paper towels, tickets and other elongated materials. ^ SUBSTANCE: roll paper holder has slotted tray and toothed knife, and is further provided with insert-cover resting upon roll and fixed so as to apply force to paper roll. Contacting surface of insert-cover is formed as one cylinder or combination of two cylinders having angle of contacting with roll between horizontal plane and tangents at contact site, said angle of contacting increasing as diameter of roll is reducing, yet said angle being greater than self-braking angle.
