PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular air resistance reducing device having excellent airflow guiding performance and capable of reducing the air resistance even in a single traveling and in a convoy traveling. SOLUTION: The air resistance reducing device 10 of a vehicle 1 having a cab 20 and a van body 30 taller than the cab comprises an airflow guiding member 2 which is installed above the cab while an upper surface side forming an airflow guiding surface 4, and a height position adjusting means 7 for adjusting the vertical position of at least a front side airflow guiding surface of the airflow guiding member 2. A means 11 for detecting the vehicle-to-vehicle distance from a preceding vehicle is provided, and an airflow guiding member control unit 12 determines whether or not the convoy traveling is performed based on the result of detection. In the convoy traveling mode, the height position adjusting means 7 adjusts the airflow guiding member 2 at the convoy traveling position. In the non-convoy traveling mode, the airflow guiding member 2 is adjusted at the non-convoy traveling position. The air resistance is effectively reduced by reducing vortexes of the air flow generated between the self vehicle and the preceding vehicle in the convoy traveling mode. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
