PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonwoven fabric having original touch without having smooth surface while having uniformity of bulkiness, flexibility and formation. SOLUTION: The method for producing the nonwoven fabric having tie dye like surface comprises carrying out a first heat treatment of a nonwoven web containing at least 30 mass% fiber having latent crimp ability and at least 20 mass% binder fiber at a temperature at which a binder component of a binder fiber melts or softens and latent crimp of the fiber having latent crimping ability is not substantially expressed, then cooling the nonwoven web and thermally bonding the constituent fibers to each other by the binder component melted or softened by a first heat treatment and then carrying out a second heat treatment at a temperature at which the latent crimp of fiber having latent crimping ability is expressed.
