An alkali-free aluminoborosilicate glass is provided to have low density and a high specific modulus of elasticity and be appropriate for manufacture of display devices such as LCD display devices or TFT-LCD. An aluminoborosilicate glass having a density of 2.40 g/cm^3 or less and a specific modulus of elasticity of 30 GPa.cm^3.g^(-1) or more comprises 58-70wt% of SiO2, 12-20wt% of Al2O3, 5-15wt% of B2O3, MgO from 0 to less than 6wt%, 2-12wt% of CaO, 0.1-5wt% of BaO, 0-1wt% of SnO2, and 0-2wt% of As2O3. The glass is free of SrO and alkali metal oxide, aside from unexpectable impurities.
