PURPOSE: A method of driving a laser diode for optical communication is provided to apply a minimal threshold current up to a final data bit from the first data bit regardless of data bit values, and to generate a driving current by interworking with data, thereby remarkably reducing power consumption. CONSTITUTION: A device delays burst mode data as the first predetermined time and the second predetermined time bigger than the first predetermined time. If a delayed result becomes the first logic level before the first predetermined time than a time transferred to the first logic level, and if the delayed result becomes the second logic level complementary with the first logic level, the device creates a bias control signal that becomes the second logic level(10). The device synthesizes the burst mode data delayed as the second predetermined time with the bias control signal, and creates a driving current having a level corresponding to a synthesized result(12). |
