PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical control element which demultiplexes wavelengths different by small regions by forming voids having different void contents for the respective regions which are divided on a multilayer film plane and transmitting or reflecting different wavelengths on one and the same face, and to provide an optical unit in which light utility efficiency is improved by combining the optical control element with a lens structure, and a drop wavelength is varied at a high speed by combining the optical control element with an optical path shift element. SOLUTION: The optical control element is composed of: a substrate 1; and a multilayer film 2 made by alternately laminating layers 3 and 4 having different refractive indices and different thickness, and placed on the substrate 1, wherein a plurality of regions S1 and S2 having a plurality of voids 5 are provided in the multilayer film 2 and the regions S1 and S2 have different void contents of the voids 5.
