<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin film which can be used for a high quality functional film and has uniform optical characteristics since thickness nonuniformity in the film flow direction and a stripe failure can be suppressed and a method for manufacturing the film. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the thermoplastic resin film, the thermoplastic resin is melted in a single-screw extruder 22, the molten resin is discharged from the extruder 22, supplied to a die 24, and extruded from the die 24 into a sheet, and the sheet is cooled and solidified to produce a cellulose acylate film 12. The extruder 22 is composed of a feed zone A, a compression zone B, and a metering zone C.
