PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve usability by ensuring satisfactory gripping state. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a housing 2 having a photographic lens 6 disposed in its front face 2a; and a slide cover 9, supported on the front face of the housing so as to be freely slid, and used for uncovering or covering the photographic lens. A support recess 3, which supports the slide cover, is formed in the front face of the housing. In the front face of the housing, at least one end of the slide cover, one end of which is perpendicular to the sliding direction of the slide cover, is formed as a non-support face 4, which does not support the slide cover. A step 5 is formed between the support recess and the non-supporting face, and the non-supporting face and the front face of the slide cover are in the form of a continuous curved or flat face. The step, exposed as a result of sliding the slide cover and opening the photographic lens, is formed as a finger rest part 5a, on which a finger rests when photographing is carried out.
