The motor vehicle bodywork component, especially the front hood, has an outer planking (12) with a stiffening inner section (14). The inner section is secured by bonding flanges (28) with zonal cuts (32,34,42) at the corners (38,40) to reduce the component stiffness. The flanges of the inner section are bonded to the planking by an adhesive.
