PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique permitting the improvement of the transfer accuracy of an object to be transferred which is rolled into a roll without continuously knowing the use condition of the object to be transferred which is rolled into a roll. SOLUTION: The transfer device comprises a spindle 113 drawably holding the roll paper R, spindle supports 114 and 115, a paper feed roller 212 which draws out the roll paper R in a prescribed drawing out direction, load cells 114b and 115b which measures the weight of the roll paper R, a tensile force computation section 201b which computes the resistance of the roll paper R due to its inertia to the drawing out of the roll paper R in the drawing out direction on the basis of the measured weight, a control value decision section 201c which decides on a control value relating to the amount of driving of the paper feed roller 212 at the time when the roll paper is drawn out on the basis of the tensile force and a transfer control section 201d which controls the rotation of the paper feed roller 212 at the time when the roll paper R is drawn out on the basis of the tensile force.
